RBAI started off strong with a quick try, which was converted. Ballyclare didn’t get into the game until late in the 1st half, by that time RBAI had scored three tries which were all converted. Ballyclare got three penalties which were converted by fly half Robert Smith. Ballyclare had a good solid scrum, but RBAI had great organisation in the backs and at the lineout situation. RBAI scored a good try from a catch and drive from the lineout. Towards the end of the first half Ballyclare lost their hooker to an injury but Joel Adair came up from the 2nds to play.

At the beginning of the 2nd half Ballyclare started to get into the game but RBAI were just too strong and they were able to score another two tries. They were also able to get a penalty. The flanker from Ballyclare also received a shoulder injury half way into the 2nd half; Harry Glover came on to replace him. RBAI received and injury to their prop, towards the end of the 2nd half. Due to an injury to Robert smith he changed positions with Matthew Johnston to become a full back. It turned out to be a good change as they both played well in their new positions. The final score was 34 - 9 which was a reasonable score.
