First XV Rugby - Match Report |
Belfast High School Vs Ballyclare High School Ballyclare started the first half well and after a sustained amount of pressure Ballyclare came away with a penalty from Robert Smith. Ballyclare had continual pressure and Robert Smith put over two more penalties. Belfast High fly-half chipped the ball and because of poor communication skills and tackling from Ballyclare, it let Belfast High School in for a try which seemed against the flow of play. The second half score was 9 - 5 in favour of Ballyclare. Ballyclare woke up more in the second half and had large amounts of possession and territory amounting to a drop goal and penalty from Robert Smith. Poor communication skills again along with bad defensive organisation let Belfast in for a second try after a long period in the Ballyclare half. Ballyclare played the better rugby for the rest of the half and ended the game with a try from lock Adam Neil. Not a great performance from the Ballyclare side but however, we had periods of very good play both defensively and in attack. Final score was 22 - 12. Congratulations to the team on an excellent victory over the local rivals, Belfast High School. |
