Congratulations to all the athletes who competed on behalf of School at the All Ireland Championships. We had eight competitors in twelve events and one relay team. However special mention must go the Intermediate Girls Team who became All Ireland Team Champions and All Ireland Relay Champions. There were outstanding performances from Joanna Mills who is a double individual All Ireland Champion. She set a new record in the 300ms and won another title in the Long Jump. Hannah Todd set 2 new records in the Triple Jump but was beaten on the last jump into second place. She was also 4 th in the 100ms. Jodie Robinson whose first event was at 9am and last at 6pm deserves a special mention for the quality of her performance over that time. She was 5 th in the High Jump, 5 th in the 200ms. However the Relay Team again smashed the event record which was 49.90 by finishing in 48.66 over a second faster. The relay team members are Jenny Hoy, Joanna Mills, Jodie Robinson, Hannah Todd and reserve Judith McKeown. Other results were: Jonny Douglas 6 th in Junior Discus Peter McMechan 8 th and 9 th in the Inter Shot and Discus Laura Douglas who was 5 th in the Invitational Mile Vanessa Surgeoner was unable to participate as she was involved in Irish U16 Hockey Training. |
