Paul Rea represents Ulster in Rugby

Ballyclare High School a sixth form pupil Paul Rea has just finished a very challenging campaign with the Ulster Schools rugby side. Paul is the current captain of the Ballyclare first XV and was the school's only representative in the Ulster side this year.

Although the Ulster side were not successful in their inter- provincial series with the other provinces of Munster. Leinster and Connacht. Paul did start all three matches in the second row for the team and was a very dependable and workmanlike player.
Paul is a second row player who can play in the back row. He is immensely strong for his age and uses this to his advantage as a strong ball carrier around the pitch.

The results of the campaign were a win against Lancashire schools 22 - 0. a loss to Munster 9 - 18. a loss to Leinster 10 - 19, and a draw with Connacht 0 - 0.

Now back with the Ballyclare High School first XV Paul hopes to make a big contribution to the preparation for the School’s cup campaign which starts after Christmas. Hopefully Paul’s experience of playing at a very intense standard of rugby can assist the team in another successful cup run.
