The
Old Ballyclarians' Association has, for over 60 years, encouraged
former pupils to maintain their links with the school and it continues
to support
the work
of staff and pupils, particularly through the funding of prizes and in maintaining
an interest in the school’s programme of games and sports.
Former pupils continue to achieve distinction in many fields. They serve as
eminent surgeons, lecturers and professors in medicine, as solicitors and barristers,
as leaders in industry and commerce, in all sectors of education including
the
universities and in agriculture and the sciences. Many also serve the community
in social services, the church and the defence forces. Pupils have distinguished
themselves at universities and colleges throughout Britain and in recent years
have won prestigious scholarships and prizes at a range of universities including
Oxford and Cambridge.
The Association now has splendid premises at Cloughan Lane which are used by
the thriving Rugby and Hockey Clubs. It promotes a number of events during the
year. Details can always be obtained via the school or on the OBA website. |
