Played at Dungannon on 4 February 2006

The visitors started the game brightly, putting pressure on Dungannon’s line. The first try came when a Ballyclare catch and drive sucked in the opposition forwards, letting the backs spread the ball, Wilson putting Holmes through who fed King for the try, which was not converted. Dungannon responded by a rolling maul providing five points. The try was converted and a penalty was later added to give the home team a 10-5 lead at a half-time. However, Ballyclare were not despondent and faced the second half confident that the deficit could be overcome.

Ballyclare indiscipline lead to another penalty kicked for Dungannon for them to regain the lead. Ballyclare came back late in the game when a counterattack by fullback Holmes made good ground. The ball came loose at the breakdown and Reid seized it to run in and score an excellent try. Robinson killed the game off in the last minute being driven over the line with the help of his fellow forwards. Jackson kicked the conversion for a final score of 24-13.
