1XI Report
Score: 5-0
It was a home game at the Valley
leisure Centre for Ballyclare, as the girls prepared against tough opponents.
The first half was disappointing for Ballyclare as their hearts were not
in the game and they were not playing to their full potential at this
stage. Half time came and the score stayed at nil each. After
a serious tactic talk from their coaches, the girls knew it was up to
them
to put things right. The forwards played exceptionally well, Rebecca Smith
winning a corner that Lyn Brown converted into a goal from a rebound shot.
The
score kept on rising, with a goal from open play from Amy McConnell, shortly
followed by superb passing from Carolynne Dougan to Rebecca Smith resulting
in another goal bringing the score to 3 nil. Ballyclare broke the Friends
play
down by keeping their shape and skill consistent until the end whistle.
Superb play from Louise Bell, at right back gave many attacking
opportunities for Ballyclare. Due to Louise’s passing and skill, Carolynne
Dougan managed to bring the score up to 4 nil. The pressure upfront paid
off, as passing from Lyn Brown to Amy McConnell set the final score to
be 5-0. Ballylcare came back a different team in the second half, with
the score board reflecting their performance. A total of 14 goals in three
of their matches so far, giving them encouragement for their nearing cup-match
against Dalriada.
